Boa Vista

Beschreibung

Boa Vista, Cape Verde

In the 19th century yellow fever decimated the population and tile industry burned all cedar trees on the island. So now, Boa Vista is a flat, dry, egg shaped island. And for tourism, there are beaches, strong winds for surfing, resorts next to the airport and a recently opened international airport.

This does not mean it is not interesting for walking. The interior is accessible. There are date palm plantations, dune landscapes (big ones), stone deserts, eroded hills and salt evaporation ponds. If you are adventurous and like semi-desert landscapes, and want the assurance of some tourist facilities, here you are.
