Circular trail around Alkmaar

This path is based on a book, available from the local tourist organisations: "Het Omringdijkpad: Wandelen om West-Friesland over de historische Omringdijk". The book describes the backgrounds of this historic dyke. The described route follows the dyke whenever possible, even when it is used by busy roads. The path visits old cities from the Golden Age of the Dutch: Medemblik, Enkhuizen, Hoorn.
